Recognized Credited Service

Recognized Credited Service. Means the number of years of service based on the Participant's hire date that is specifically recognized and maintained by the Human Resources Department for the purpose of calculating severance benefits (regardless of the number of years of service that may be recognized for other purposes, such as vacation benefits) and that arises in connection with a Participant's employment by companies affiliated with or formerly affiliated with the Company or ... companies that are merged with or acquired by the Company or by a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company and where provisions of the original related merger or acquisition agreement specifically address service dates for purposes of severance calculation.
