Example Definitions of "Utilization Review"
Utilization Review. Means the review of physical therapy provided to patients for necessity and appropriateness conducted either concurrently with the provision of the services or retrospectively after they have been rendered, and which review may result in advice to a physician or therapist that a reviewed service is not necessary or appropriate or not eligible for reimbursement under a Payor Agreement, as more fully set forth in Section 3.14.
